Woman: We've struggled with infertility for over five years. We began our journey in 2008, when we decided to expand our family. As a result, after having two years of difficulty, we've decided to seek treatment with a reproductive specialist. Prior to coming to the Arizona Associates for Reproductive Health, we saw two other specialists where we didn't have much success. Several IUI treatments, we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. My husband had great numbers. My hormone levels were great. After finding no success with after three IUI's, we moved to another reproductive specialist. And that was hard, you know when you switch from one clinic to another. We've decided that we wanted to find someone that had our best interest at heart. It just seemed at the prior clinics it was a situation of let's keep going with this treatment until something happens. It wasn't very personal. We moved to another reproductive specialist clinic and didn't find much success. It was actually at the recommendation of a colleague that we found ourselves here at the Arizona Associates for Reproductive Health, and it's been the best decision we've ever made as a couple. Everyone here, they've been top notch. Everything from the financing, to the consultation with the specialist, to the nurses that guide each way, we've been very, very happy. Our specialist found things that the others couldn't, and it was through his knowledge and his willingness to go above and beyond, to seek what was the cause of our infertility we found out that ours was a genetic issue. As a result of that, we had to do further extensive testing. We got there, and it's just been life altering. Knowing why you're infertile when you've been diagnosed with unexplained infertility makes all the difference. That's what has brought the greatest relief to us as a family and as a couple, because now we know the root cause as to why we couldn't have children and why it took so long for us to get to this point. And now we are here and we're so happy. We can't wait until August 2015. Man: What he told us was that I had a balanced translocation on chromosomes 19 and 20. The only way that we were going to get pregnant from that time forward would be either by luck or IVF. When we found, initially, the root of the problem, I was shocked and a little bit upset. Not that I had the issue with me, it was a balance translocation. It was the fact that it took three doctors to find it. Once that kind of settled in, then we were like, okay we knew what the issue was, we knew what the plan was. Then we just had to have a lot of faith with the doctor and our specialist and moving forward with where we were. One of the main differences that we were looking for in difference from other clinics was some sort of a personal care. In the other clinics that we went to, we would see the doctor in the initial consult, and then we would never see the doctor again. We would receive calls occasionally from nurses, or even the procedures were taken care of by nurses. Here at Arizona Associates, from the beginning, we had the initial consult with the doctor, he assured us that he was going to stick with us through the entire process, and he has to this point. We do receive calls from nurses immediately. When we have any questions on anything, they are always very good at calling us back quickly. They have great information and the doctor does too. Sometimes he will even call us at 6 or 7 at night just to see how things are going.
