Dr. Johnson is a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Geneticist, who started in academic medicine at Stanford University. He personally understands the struggle with infertility as he and his wife had to undergo fertility treatment to have two of their children.

Dr. Johnson first became interested in this medical field before he had a family of his own. He was fascinated by endocrine issues, reproductive biology and the cutting-edge science that was developing around IVF, and he was drawn by the promise of helping others to create a family.

Years later, after conceiving their first daughter without difficulty, Dr. Johnson and his wife experienced their own struggle with infertility that ultimately resulted in the birth of twins.  His personal journey allows him to understand the frustrations and the pain that confront patients both as individuals and as couples.

Dr. Johnson has practiced reproductive medicine and fertility in the Phoenix valley since 2000. His background is unique in that he is both an experienced Reproductive Endocrinologist-Infertility specialist and a Clinical Geneticist.

He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with subspecialty Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology-Infertility and is Board Certified in the specialty of Medical Genetics. He received his B.S. degree at the United States Air Force Academy in 1974 and his medical M.D. degree at Tulane University School of Medicine in 1978. Dr. Johnson pursued his Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Fellowship training at the Medical College of Georgia (1987–1989). During his fellowship, he developed an interest in genetics research and was selected as a Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  During his term as a Research Fellow at the NIH (1989–1993), he completed the NIH Clinical Fellowship in Medical Genetics. Following his fellowships, Dr. Johnson was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Stanford University School of Medicine (1993–1996) and an Assistant Professor and Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), Harbor Medical Center (1996–1998).  His previous private practice experiences in reproductive medicine were at the Arizona Reproductive Medicine Specialists (2003–2013), Fertility Treatment Center in Chandler (2000–2003), and the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Genetics in West Palm Beach, Florida (1998–2000).
