Massage
at Body Harmony with Lynette Sulenski, LMT, RYT
Lynette
learned first-hand of the remarkable healing qualities of
massage and yoga after a near fatal accident in 1997. Her
recovery with these healing modalities was so remarkable
that she decided to leave the corporate world and pursue
training as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and Registered
Yoga Teacher (RYT). As a LMT and owner of Body Harmony,
she is fulfilling her dreams of supporting others in restoring,
revitalizing and healing their bodies. Through the healing
properties of massage, Lynette encourages an overall sense
of peace and well being within the mind and body. The body's
sense of well being produces a relaxation effect which in
turn assists the body to restore vitality and reduce fatigue,
stimulate the circulatory system, improve muscle flexibility,
relieve problematic symptoms and minimize chronic muscle
tension, thus increasing the body's natural healing mechanisms.
Types of Massage Offered by Lynette at Body Harmony:
Fertility
Massage
Recent research suggests that stress may be associated with
diminished fertility and decreased rates of pregnancy with
fertility treatments such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
Fertility massage is primarily designed to promote a relaxation
response within the body, thus potentially increasing the
chance of pregnancy. Similar to Swedish Massage, this style
of massage utilizes smooth, gliding strokes with light to
medium pressure to relax soft tissue.
Swedish
Massage
Swedish massage stimulates circulation, eases muscle tension,
improves flexibility and promotes relaxation. This style
of massage utilizes smooth, gliding strokes with light to
medium pressure to relax soft tissue.
Therapeutic
Massage
Therapeutic massage is designed to isolate and relieve problematic
symptoms and reduce tension. A mixture of techniques are
utilized to manipulate the body's muscular and soft tissue
structure.
Deep
Tissue
Deep tissue massage targets releasing chronic muscle tension
through slower strokes and more direct pressure and/or friction
of specific muscle groups. A combination of techniques are
used to access deeper layers of the soft tissue.
Prenatal
Massage
Prenatal (pregnancy) massage focuses on the special needs
of the mother-to-be. Modified draping techniques and massage
strokes diminish muscle tension, lower back pain, stimulate
the circulatory system, and reduce overall tensions promoting
relaxation and a sense of calm for the baby and the mother-to-be.
