Associates for Reproductive Health has a comprehensive CLIA
and College of American Pathologist (CAP) registered Andrology
Laboratory. Having an on-site laboratory within the center provides
patients with maximum privacy and convenience. Private semen
collection facilities are available within the center and close
to the laboratory for patient comfort.
Arizona
Associates for Reproductive Health also welcomes patient
referrals from outside physicians. We can easily provide and
coordinate semen testing services and sperm washes for intrauterine
insemination (IUI) with outside Gynecology, Urology or other
physician specialties. In these cases, patients are referred
by their physician, or partner's gynecologist, to Arizona
Associates for Reproductive Health for testing or sperm
washing. The results of the Semen Analysis test are mailed
or Faxed to the referral physician who then continues to provide
care for the patient. Outside physicians may also refer patients
to Arizona Associates for Reproductive Health for sperm
washing for insemination by their gynecologist.

When
the patient arrives at Arizona Associates for Reproductive
Health, specially trained laboratory technicians provide
him with written semen collection instructions and answer
any questions he may have. Understanding the proper methods
of collection is important to ensure accurate fertility testing
results. The patient is then shown to a private semen collection
suite, which is close to the laboratory and within Arizona
Associates for Reproductive Health. Following collection,
the patient is asked to complete a questionnaire to ensure
accurate interpretation and reporting of fertility results
to the patient's physician.
