About Dr. Diane Hammit

Dr. Diane G. Hammitt, Ph.D., HCLD, joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale in 1996 after practicing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Hammitt was the director of IVF and Andrology Laboratories at the Mayo Clinic for 12 years, and at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the 8 prior years. She has over 20 years of experience directing Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) Laboratories. For the last six years, the laboratories under Dr. Hammitt's direction earned the Accreditation with Distinction award with the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the highest merit for IVF laboratories.

Dr. Hammitt received her Ph.D. from Iowa State University. She is board-certified by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) as a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD). Her areas of special interest include male-factor infertility, embryo and oocyte cryopreservation and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).
